Alex Albon is making a full recovery in the hospital after undergoing respiratory failure. Williams Formula 1 driver Alex Albon suffered respiratory failure after surgery to remove the appendix. Albon fell ill with appendicitis on Saturday, during the Italian Grand Prix race weekend at Monza. He is now in stable condition and is expected to return home tomorrow. He is being treated at a hospital in Italy after appendicitis surgery. The 26-year-old underwent laparoscopic surgery on Saturday that was successful, according to his team. Williams Racing released a statement on their website to provide an update on Albon's health. The Briton had to be re-intubated and spent the night in the hospital's intensive are unit. He is expected to be discharged from the hospital and return home to the UK on Tuesday. The 26-year-old's condition was described as "stable" by doctors. Nyck de Vries filled in for Albon, finishing 9th on the day.
